The Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigations, and Department of Homeland Security each have individual roles that are tasked for fighting the increasing threat of computer crimes and internet espionage. These agencies currently have different objectives but each should be aligned to better protect the nation against computer crimes that can result in infrastructure damage or failure. The Secret Service is primarily focused upon fighting counterfeiting crimes that are made easier with the onslaught of technology that has been established with advances in technology. Therefore, the use of jet printers, computer scanners, and other technological advances has led to an influx of computer crimes that allow regular people with little to no experience in counterfeiting to produce counterfeited money that has the ability to pass as 'real'.
