The premise of boot camp was to attempt to bring a sense of order and structure into teen's lives who were displaying delinquent behavior and criminality. By placing them in environments with strict rules and guidelines along military lines, the thought process was that the teens would gain the discipline that they lacked in their lives. Having knowledge of the boot camp success rate, in which it was highly unsuccessful, I can attest to the fact that these camps did not succeed in changing many of the youths who were sent to them. ...
