In a general way of speaking there is nothing wrong with a Muslim resurgence. It is the same as talking about a Catholic resurgence or a Buddhist resergence. Muslims and the religion of Islam is not, in and of itself a threat to the West or the World. There are Muslim centers in the United States that have been in existence for many years and have posed no threat to the American way of life.

However the extreme militant wing of Muslims from which the terrorist organizations are recruited is a threat. This Muslim resurgence has had an impact on world history. It is interesting how the Muslim world in general does not condemn terrorist attacks on Western targets. However they fly into an outrage whenever a Western nation implies that Muslims are terrorists or if they depict Muslims in stereotypical fashion. Scandinavian papers a while ago printed a political cartoon of a Muslim man with a bomb in his turban. The Muslim world exploded in outrage and threatened terrorist activity and violence against those newspapers. In Florida last month an American pastor sponsored a "Burn the Koran" day and was vilified across the globe. In France, much attention has been drawn to the attempts by the French to ban certain Muslim dress in their public schools. All of these actions by the Western people has been denounced with little attention being drawn to the fact that Muslim terrorism continues in many parts of the world.
