Stonewall Jackson, a deeply religious Calvinist, brought to the Confederate States of America leadership and determination of a singular nature. Each plan, tactic and decision he made for his men was a result of hard and earnest prayer. He felt deeply that he was an instrument of God and his mission on earth was to do God's will until such a time as he was called to Heaven. For that reason, Stonewall showed no fear in the midst of battle, earning him his famous nickname.
