This was a much harder topic to research than I anticipated. Trying to find 5-7 initiatives that would impact an HIS system is difficult, I spent most of yesterday just trying to find the literature I wanted. Right now I'm going to give you what I have and ideas that come to mind, then we can work on formatting that into your assignment paper.

Thoughts on PPACAs impact on health care facilities:

* Theoretically, in the future, there should not be any patients presenting to a health care facility who do not have insurance.
* Bundled billing will require coordination of care between facilities and quality accountability
* Preventative care is of high importance, and is provided free to patients
* New crack-down on Medicare/Medicaid waste and fraud may require more stringent billing practices
* Information will need to be provided in a culturally/linguistically appropriate manner
