There are several changes which are experienced in the health care systems which were not in existence historically. The changes which are experienced in the day today world were not evident within the historical context of the health care systems. The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis and explanation of the changes which are experienced within healthcare systems while providing evidence from an historical perspective. In addition to this, the paper also identifies the potential reasons of some of the experienced changes and the negative and positive effects of the changes experienced.

Changes in the health care system:

The various changes which are noticed in the health care system are as a result of the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Act (PPACA) which has an aim of addressing the fundamental crises such as the rise in the health coverage costs. To begin with, the major change experienced in the health care system is the issue of the insurance coverage plan. Several changes such as the expansion of the coverage plan for individuals who are dependents until the age of 26 is one of the changes experienced. The expansion involves expanding the coverage from 26 years to 28 or 29 years. In addition, children with pre existing conditions are also offered coverage in the today's system unlike in the historical health care context when the coverage was denied to children with these conditions (System changes in health care, 2010).

Other than the changes experienced concerning insurance issues, the use of information systems facilities has also been evident within the health care system which was not present historically. ...
