1). Yes, I highly recommend a recent film that deals with the same theme called Winter Bones. It is about a young girl, much like Ruby and also character parallels with Inman, who risks it all, her sanity, safety, and life, to secure and maintain her family's farm after the grisly disappearance of her father, a drug addict and dealer. This movie, like the novel, emphasizes the importance of family and land, two themes that strongly echo throughout the film and book.
