This job discusses how changes in crop prices, technology, transportation costs, or labor costs affect patterns of land use in the Von Thunen model. The model would change, but to what extent?
In its simplest form, Von Thunen's Model can be thought of as a small mixed farm with the land use pattern extending in concentric circular bands from the homestead, which is effectively the 'market'. As prices of crops or animal products change, the farmer will decide whether to grow more or less of a particular item. This has the effect of changing the band width on the model; broader if demand is greater, narrower if less.
