Many a times, old processes or techniques are pursued simultaneouly along with new ways, till the time the new technology is proven and trustworthy. The key danger of continuing to do things the old way as well as using new technology to perform the same tasks is that it will lead to confusion and chaos across the organization, will prevent the smooth migration from the older one to newer one will not take place. Further, by continuing on the old ways of doing things along with new ones, duplication of effort will take place due to confusion.
