I am writing a lab report on the two reactions. 1) trimethethanol with HBR
2) triphenymethanol with HI.
Here is where the problem is on the NMR with HBr I have a peak and I measured the integration line at 123mm. But how do I determine how many hydrogens are in the sample from this.
The same for the reaction with HI I have two peaks one measures 104mm the other 22mm.
second, what would be the important peaks in the IR spectrum and where should they be located?
