# use pH value to find hydrogen ion concentration

Please I answered all of them except b, therefore, I need help with answer b and also could you verify my answers please for a, c, and d? if they are wrong what would it be?
Thank you

-The pH of uncontaminated rain water is about 5.6. The pH of rain falling in Cleveland, OH is 4.2 and that in Omaha, NE is 5.5.

a. In which city is the rain more acid? Cleveland, Ohio

b. Using a calculator, determine the number of liters of rain water which would provide 1 mole of hydrogen ions for each city.

c. What is the concentration of hydrogen ions in the rainfall of each city? [H] 6.3 ^ -5 for Cleveland.
And for Omaha would be [H] 3.2 ^ -6

d. What is the concentration of hydroxide ions in the rainfall of each city? [OH] 9.9 ^ -11 for Cleveland.
And for Omaha would be [OH] 1.1 ^ -11

Hi there,

Thanks for allowing me to work on your questions. Here is my answer:

b. First, calculate the concentration of hydrogen ions:
cleveland OH, [H+]=10^(-4.2) mol.L^-1. volume of the rain that can produce 1 mole of hydrogen ions: ...
