Executive Summary
This paper will focus on the evaluation of internal environment of J.M. Smucker Company by reviewing the resources and capabilities of the company. The paper will observe the economic value of the firm and various tangible and intangible resources to explain the SWOT analysis of the company. In addition, the paper would also concentrate on the capabilities of the organization that are highlighted by the resource based review.
This report is associated with the various parameters that are associated with the company J.M. Smucker and its internal environment. With the help of this paper, the reader would be able to understand the various strategies used by company to utilize the available resources and take the advantages of the opportunities available in the market.
Introduction
This SLP report explains about the internal analysis of J.M. Smucker Company. This company is belonged to the food and vegetable canning industry.
Thesis Statement: How the tangible and intangible resources of the company underline the internal capabilities of the firm to create strategies, so that the company can achieve the sustainable competitive advantage and evaluate the internal and external environment. This evaluation is accomplished with the help of primary and secondary data that is gathered by the various books, journals article and websites.
SWOT Analysis
It constitutes two parts one is an internal environmental analysis and another is an external environmental analysis (Pierce & Robinson, 2004). The internal environment includes strengths and weaknesses and external environment include opportunities and threats as shown in the following figure:

The company has sufficient tangible resources (Physical, financial, technical, etc.). It has more than 10 brands like Smucker's, Hungry Jack, Eagle brand, Martha White, Crisco, Pillsbury, etc. with the 11 different product categories such as ice cream toppings, fruits spread, coffee, health and natural foods, beverages, shortening, natural peanut butter, health and natural foods, etc. (J.M.
