The key to organizational development is to change the environment of the organization along with its tasks, technology, and economic and institutional environment. The healthcare organizations are complex due to the complexity of hospital and provider network. TO be able to provide high quality care, hospitals needed to integrate its organizational functions, professional groups, and specialist groups into coherent group. Similarly schools and government agencies are complex due to the organizational structure and number of levels involved. This calls for extensive teamwork which has been sore point for most organizations. Trust and empowerment are two things which are required by the leadership to be able to influence performance of individuals. However, due to bureaucratic setting which relies on control and distrust, only a few organizations have been able to transform.
The organizational development for healthcare, schools, and government has indeed been on track record by demonstrating the competence, sustainability, and relevance to strategic performance for all the three sectors. It has ...
