Question 3 was a little more difficult to assist with. I can work on that more, but need information from the text that you are using. Didn't have any references in my texts and keywords that I used didn't bring out any sources from library I use for journals, etc.

1. What were the external and internal forces for change at Best Buy?

This is pretty straight forward for this case. Several key aspects of the work environment stand out and were particularly conducive to an initiative such as ROWE. In looking at the forces of change, there 4 key external forces and 2 internal forces. External forces are Demographic Characteristics, Technological Advancements, Market Changes, and Political or Social Pressures. Each of these played a role in the success of ROWE, but none are more influential than the actual capability to make it happen. Without the (then) current level of technology, employees would not be enabled to work outside of close proximity to the work place (Considering the example used of BestBuy.com department, these are employees most familiar with the technology in selling technology being harnessed and unable to use it at its potential). Technology enabled change. Related to the other external forces;
The workforce grows ever increasingly diverse. Different employees have varying needs and continually herding them inside of cubicles only subjugated identities, which could justifiably be argued to have a negative impact on morale.
The force of Market Changes has a similar impact. In the competition for talent, or knowledge capital, it is necessary to set the organization apart from the pack. Change was needed to reduce turnover and acquire/recruit talent.
Social pressure, maybe the least applicable, originated from employee frustration at the work environment. Their social networks, informal and formal, potentially could erode the employee loyalty, motivating employees to leave the company in addition ...
