Employment Laws affect Human Resource Practices
Employment laws are the rules and regulations that dealt with the actions, responsibilities, rights and relationship of employees and employers. It provides a framework through an organization develops its HR practices. Laws of employment describes about how an organization should treat its employee that also affects its human resource practices at large extent. For example, the employment law prohibits discrimination on the basis of physical or mental disabilities that is not favorable for organizational human resource practices as due to this, qualified people are not able to get pay and benefits as per their ability. This employment law forces the organization in formulation of practices that creates discrimination situations for qualified workforce (Bogardus, 2004). The sexual harassment laws are also have some mistakes such as harassment can be occurred from opposite sex as well as only victim can file complaints etc. These mistakes are affected human resource practices as due to this organizations are not able to formulate appropriate human resource policies and to take immediate actions.
