I need help is submitting the below as individual paper per SLP, in case there is a needed input, you may assume that and continue based on you assumption:
_______________________________________________
In this SLP #1,
In the Session Long Project for this course, you will be working with several classmates as a virtual team on a competitive project. This project will involve assessment of both group and individual work. Your team process will serve as the material for the cases, and your team's task output will serve as the material for the SLP. You will use the TD to communicate with other team members, so be sure to respond to the TD that is set up for your team right away, even if just to introduce yourself.
The SLP works as follows:
1. Locate your virtual team in the Threaded discussion (Module 1 lists the team name and members)
2. Review the instructions for the team project.
3. Communicate with the rest of the team and decide how you will accomplish your task.
4. Do not submit any list yet, just use this time to get organized.
When you have finished your task, submit a 2-3 page report to coursenet. The report should include:
1. The name of the team. (I have assigned preliminary team names. You can keep it as is, or come up with your own name.)
2. An evaluation of the process your team went through to get organized. Be sure to address the following issues:
? Did it resemble the model of team process presented in the background material? Was it something different?
? Was it effective?
? What problems did you run into? Were they resolved?
Instructions for team project:
"Virtual Teams: 101 Tips". Our goal is to generate 101 practical tips that can increase the effectiveness of virtual teams.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Four things:
1. You participate in a fun game.
2. You learn practical tips to improve your virtual teaming skills.
3. You share some practical tips with an eager audience.
4. You achieve fame: Your team get points and, if you are one of the top scorers, get your name placed in the Hall of Fame.
HOW TO PLAY. Your team needs to come up with a list of practical tips on how to manage a virtual team. Keep your tips brief (three or four sentences and not more than 50 words). Send us at least one tip and not more than five tips before the end of module 2. (Submit as part of the SLP)
HOW TO CHEAT. Reflect on your own experience in teams that were not co-located and derive important tips. You can read the background materials or draw on any books, workshops, expert interviews, or surf the Internet to collect virtual teaming tips and rewrite them in your own words.
HOW TO SEND YOUR TIPS. Remember the limit of five tips per round.
WHAT'S NEXT? We will continue this game until the end of module 4. Every round I will update the list of virtual teaming tips and place them on our threaded discussion site in a separate forum. Review this list frequently and continue sending additional tips that do not duplicate the tips already on the list.

SLP # 2 :

Your team's process and task output will serve as the material for this SLP. Please use the TD to communicate with other team members, so respond to the TD that is set up for your team.
Review the rules for the team project, "Virtual Teams: 101 Tips". By now you should have met with your team at least once and decided on a short list of tips to submit. By the end of this module, submit that list of tips along with a 2-3 page analysis that addresses the following questions:
? What did your team do to establish task and interpersonal connection - be specific.
? What barriers did you encounter in trying to establish connectedness?
? Did your team try to address these barriers with any of the material in the readings for this module?
Be sure to take an analytical approach. I am more interested in the "why's" and "what did you do that resulted in that outcome" than I am in mere description.

The process my team went through to get organized was haphazard. We first synchronized one watch so that across the members we would be referring to one time. Then we fixed a time for teleconferencing. We used all types of communication to ensure that all team members were online at the time. Still, three members were not there when we started the teleconferencing. We contacted them by phone but were not reachable, so we decided to continue without them.
The model of the team process that was presented to us was very different from what happened in reality. There was chaos. Those who were aware of the model tried to set objectives for the group but most of the time was spent on the proper use of technology. In fact there was a kind of frustration that we were not achieving something useful. Happily, after two hours two of the persons that were missing from the teleconferencing joined in via e-mail. the teleconferencing software was not functioning.
What struck me was that each of the twelve members that were attempting teleconferencing were eager to get down to business, contribute to the objective of the group and make the group a successes. Luckily we did not have to set goals for the team. The preparatory material had informed us of the goals to be achieved, the resources we had and the time span within which the goals had to be achieved.
What I discovered was that team members privately contacted each other first over telephone and in several cases in person. I feel the personal meetings only helped in bonding the group better.
Another aspect of the team formation process was the co-ordination effort put in by the designated group leader. He allocated the tasks to individuals, phoned some members to enquire how their work was progressing and if he felt necessary he reallocated the tasks. He also gave individual recognition for the work done by the members. Sometimes he shot off e-mails to everybody appreciating that the group had completed its task within the deadline.
The process of virtual team work was successful to a certain extent. I noticed that ...
