There are very few fields where women cannot perform as well or better than their male counterparts. The only exception would be fields that require great upper body strength, for example a fire fighter. A fire fighter may be required to dead lift 200 lbs person and carry them to safety. An individual either has the strength to do this or they don't. By no means, does this statement indicate that there are no women who can do this job. However, on the whole the average man is going to have greater upper body strength than the average woman.
The health care field demands dedication, intelligence, ethics, stamina, leadership and above all kindness, traits which are not exclusive to either sex.
