Is it possible to relate negative numbers to practical life?
We may think of things which may be categorized as negative - such as debt, going below sea level (maybe in a Submarine), below freezing temperature, driving a car in a reverse gear, giving away things (oh well! on this one, one could argue that giving is a virtue so maybe it should be on the side of the positives...) If so, how could this be related to
If a < b, then -a > -b?
Assume a and b are positive, and a < b.
We can think that a and b are above sea level, such as ...
This uses a real life situation to explain an inequality with negative numbers.
