The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis on the kind of training that expatriates from the U.S to Romania would be offered prior to their departure for a new assignment, how expatriation can be handled, and how the expatriates can be compensated. Expatriation process is known to be challenging therefore some form of training should be offered to the involved individuals prior to beginning their assignments. Companies should also compensate the expatriates and support provided for their families to avoid cases of overwhelming. Having operations in different countries may have an effect on an individual's efficiency and effectiveness as a result of working in an area which has different culture.

There are several types of training which can be given to expatriates prior to their departure to a host country which in this case is Romania. Training is required for the expatriates since it prepares them for the cultural changes which they are going to notice when they arrive in Romania. The first type of training the expatriate receives is the cultural training which is considered as an important form of training since it will assist the expatriates in preparing the cultural changes that they are likely to experience.
