Fish evolution and differences in skeletal structure

Fish do not all have the same skeletal structure. This job describes the differences among fish from the most primitive to more advanced types.

Solution Summary

There are three main evolutionary groups of fish; 1) the jawless fish (agnatha), 2) the cartilaginous fish (chondrichthyes), and 3) the bony fish (osteichthyes). In this solution I discuss how these groups evolved and focus on the skeletal structure of each group.
