Dear Professor,

I need to create an implementation plan based on a faux cleaning service that was created for a law group exercise (only 6 members who only communicate via texting).

Its contingent based on another person's input, which unfortunately seems a little vague and I'm frustrated trying to come up with something that invokes substance.

The scenario and rules are:

Managing people effectively is a skill that requires constant planning and development. Grade A Cleaning Services has not had many problems with being organized this past 3 years; however, there is always room for improvement. The following are three improvements I urge the company takes.

Delegating positions and tasks seem to always include a degree of inevitable confusion. The team works together as a whole well, but sometimes, when it comes down to the wire we scramble within the management to arrive at a final decision. I suggest having a designated manager, someone higher on the chain of command to step forward and decide on delegating tasks.

Some of the struggles we've had these past three years, is managing our marketing to our targeted market. We target both men and woman, ages 40-65 in well-established areas around the Tarpon Springs area. Our current mailers and letters are randomly selected homes just near our home office. Hiring or designating a person to focus on this specific demographic interested in our services, would allow us to better focus on our goal clientele, and ultimately able us to expand out across the bay area, thus increasing our revenue base.

Implementing an accountable task list for the minor details would improve our organizational system. These tasks may be small but attention to detail is important. When multiple minor details are missed, this creates a larger detail. An interactive system for our team members to check off daily would help this. Establishing formal and informal organizational structure would assist in appropriately delegating authority with focus on sharing responsibilities.

We will need to give the company a minimum of six months after these changes have implemented. It'll take this amount of time to recognize what changes need to be made. If changes are necessary, then management will come together and test and address the situations prior, allowing the opportunity to rectify flaws. The management as a whole will then be accountable moving forward in all areas needing improvement.

Ugh! I need some direction, and I need it in 24 hrs. :(

Egads!

Maybe discuss demographics (age relevant 40-75), assigning task lists for payroll, hiring/firing, logistics, (nothing too specific).

The demographics will consist of individuals who are from affluent neighborhoods, and those who can afford paying higher prices for more quality services, which is what is being offered by the company's business model and implementation plan. To reach these affluent consumers, the company will send out brochures with the company's logo and information touting its difference in regard to typical cleaning services, and for those who are affluent and interested in obtaining more information on the product, they will be able to call and receive this information. The objective will be to simply introduce our motto on the phone but more importantly schedule an in-home visit to build the trust and show the client why our products are superior to others. The target demographic is affluent consumers because they have less aversion to higher prices as they are more interested in ensuring that the services provided are professional and conducted correctly. Therefore, the company will be ...
