Problem
#16004

This deals with limiting reactants in stoichiometry

If 45.7 grams of Na reacts with excess H2O, how many grams of each product will form?  (You need to determine the equation of the reaction in order to determine the answer).

I am working as a substitute teacher and need to teach this material to my class - please explain the steps needed to solve this question (at the high school level!) thoroughly so that I can understand it and teach it properly to my students. Any background information that you can include will be appreciated. Thank you!
