Analytical Chemistry: Making a Stock Solution.

A chemistry student is about to make a stock solution of 0.1 molar HCl.  He proceeds by adding two 10mL additions of 10M HCL to a 500mL beaker and fill it with water from the sink.  Other than not using di-ionized water, what are all other problems associated with this procedure.
