The current personality model we discuss is the five-factor model of personality. This hierarchical model considers personality traits. The five components are extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. Repeated testing has found that the five components are found across a wide range of persons from different ages and different cultures (1). This model is also consistent. Each component has several correlated factors. A person who is extrovert is also excitement seeking, loves activity, and is assertive. Similarly, a person who is open to experience also appreciates art, loves adventures, unusual ideas, and is curious.
